All competitive matches on Goat World require a valid replay link. This ensures fairness, transparency, and allows for match verification and dispute resolution. Follow these guidelines to ensure your replays are accepted.
Accepted Platforms
Dueling Book
The primary platform for Goat World matches. Replays are automatically generated and shareable via URL.
Format: https://www.duelingbook.com/replay?id=XXXXXX
Other Platforms
Alternative platforms may be accepted if they provide permanent, publicly accessible replay links.
Contact staff for platform approval
Technical Requirements
Permanent Link
The replay URL must be permanent and publicly accessible. Do not use temporary sharing links or links that expire after a certain time.
Complete Match
The replay must contain the entire match from start to finish, including all games in the match (best of 3 or best of 5).
Correct Format
The match must be played using the correct April 2005 Goat Format card pool and banlist. Matches with illegal cards or incorrect rules will be invalidated.
Proper Usernames
Both players should be identifiable in the replay. Use your Discord username or Goat World profile name when possible to facilitate verification.
How to Submit Replays
⚠️ Important: Loser's Responsibility
The player who loses the match is responsible for reporting the loss and submitting the replay. This ensures accurate match records and prevents disputes. Make sure to save the replay link immediately after the match ends.
Ladder Matches
For ladder matches, use this bot command in #ladder to report your loss:
/loss opponent:@username my_wins:0 opponent_wins:2 replay_url:<replay-url>Note: In ladder Bo3, my_wins must be 0 or 1, and opponent_wins must be 1 or 2.
Tournament Matches
For tournament matches, use the tournament-specific command:
/tournament_loss tournament:<tournament-name> opponent:@username my_wins:0 opponent_wins:2 replay_url:<replay-url>Note: In tournaments, my_wins must be 0 or 1, and opponent_wins must be 2.
Other Commands
For a complete list of all available bot commands and their usage, visit the Bot Commands page.
Disputed Matches
If there's a dispute about match results, replays will be reviewed by staff. Missing or invalid replays may result in match invalidation or penalties.
Best Practices
- 💾
Save immediately: Save the replay link right after the match ends. Don't wait until later as you might forget or lose the link.
- 📋
Copy from browser: Always copy the replay URL directly from your browser's address bar, not from chat or other sources.
- ✓
Test the link: Before submitting, open the replay link in a new tab to verify it works and shows the complete match.
- 👤
Use clear names: Set your Dueling Book username to match your Discord name or Goat World profile for easy identification.
